SFHS Education Planning Guide
The information in this book can be extremely valuable to secondary school students and their parents/guardians. Charting a course through high school and beyond is of critical importance to the individual and should be attended to with the utmost care. Thus, it is important to keep this material for future reference.
Be aware that, because this material is published early in the preceding school year, changes in procedure, policy, administration, and course offerings may be required.

Review your student’s course selections for the 2026-2027 school year in Skyward!
Course selection forms are due by February 12th. Students who have questions about their schedule can request a visit with their counselors using the link in Skyward.
Starting on February 12th , counselors will take the information from the course selection sheets and input into Skyward. Then parents and students can log into Skyward to verify schedules. It is important to confirm their schedule because no changes will be allowed after the verification deadline of February 27, 2026
Classes and staffing are determined by student requests. So, it is very important to take the time to ensure your child has the correct courses for the 26-27 school year. Also, schedule changes will not be available during the 2026-2027 school year.
Ensure the following:
- Total credits = 8.0 (Semester classes = 0.5 credits each)
- Some courses may have additional fees. Refer to the Programs of Study Guide.
- Refer to the EPG for more information on all courses.
To request a change:
You can submit the electronic schedule change form until February 27, 2026.
- If no changes are needed: Please sign the verification in Skyward by Friday, February 27, 2026.
- If not signed, your student's selections will be considered final.
Changes after verification will only be allowed if:
- A required course is missing (e.g., for graduation or a program of study).
- A student is enrolled in a course for Dual Credit
- A course has been previously completed, is no longer offered, or lacks prerequisites.
- A scheduling error occurred (e.g., missing a full schedule, remedial course needed).
- A student is switching sports as a multi-sport athlete.
Thank you for ensuring your student’s schedule is accurate!
