Graduation Day Information
Reminder: Graduation is a milestone you have been striving for all your life. This ceremony is a tribute to your achievements and is eagerly anticipated by your parents and family members. All graduates participating in the ceremony are expected to adhere to all graduation policies and procedures. Additionally, all graduates must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct. If graduates do not comply, they may be instructed to leave and not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
- Graduate's caps & gowns may not be altered or decorated.
- No cords, stoles, collars, etc... may be worn that are not affiliated with SFHS.
- Ex: flower necklaces, candy chains, and miscellaneous stoles
- You can put these on for pictures after graduation.

Graduate Parking & Information
- Each graduate will receive 2 parking passes at Senior Check Out on May 20th.

- Graduates are encouraged to be dropped off at graduation to allow their guest to use their 2 passes.
- Graduates should be dropped off at Door 5 (auditorium metal detector entrance).
- Graduates may also ride the Graduate Shuttle from Santa Fe Junior High.
- There is only 1 graduate shuttle and it departs at 5:30 PM. This shuttle is for graduates ONLY. If you plan to ride the shuttle, plan your drop off time at the junior high accordingly.
Graduate Arrival
Students should arrive or be dropped off at Door #5 (auditorium metal detector entrance) by 6:15 PM.
- Please do not arrive earlier than 5:45 PM as there will not be staff available to let you into the building until 5:45 PM and you will have to sit outside.
- Students will put their cell phones and other belongings in alphabetized buckets before entering the metal detectors.
- All students must pass through metal detectors before entering the gym.
- It is encouraged to leave cell phones and other items with your family.
- Cell phones are not permitted, no exceptions.
- Student belongings will be available after graduation by the fieldhouse.
- Student graduation banners may be picked up after graduation.
Rain Delay/Alternate Graduation Plan
If graduation is rained out on Friday, May 22nd, graduation will be held the following day on Saturday, May 23rd rain or shine.
- Option 1: 10:00 AM at Joe Raitano Stadium
- If this is rained out...we move to Option 2.
- Option 2: 7:30 PM at Joe Raitano Stadium.
- Option 3: If it continues to rain and we cannot hold an outdoor graduation, graduation will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 7:30 PM in the high school gym with limited seating. Additional seating will be provided in the auditorium.
Tickets:
Students will receive rain tickets in their Senior Check Out package when they participate in Senior Check Out on May20th.

Graduation Dress Code
Graduation is a milestone you have been striving for all your life. This ceremony is a tribute to your achievements and is eagerly anticipated by your parents and family members. All graduates participating in the ceremony are expected to adhere to all graduation policies and procedures. Additionally, all graduates must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct. If graduates do not comply, they may be instructed to leave and not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
ALL STUDENTS:
Must wear the designated cap, gown, and tassel. No alterations to either the cap or gown will be allowed. (For example, no decorations on the caps, no extra tassels, cords, or stoles that are not affiliated with Santa Fe High School or military enlistment, flower necklaces, candy chains, flags, etc.). The tassel must be worn on the left side until the class is certified to graduate.
- Jewelry: Watch and ring(s) are okay
- Earrings: Small and simple
- No purses or electronic devices (cell phones, cameras, musical devices, etc.). Leave them at home or in the trunk of your car. Items that are confiscated at Graduation will be available at the tables near the field house immediately following the ceremony, or at the SFHS main office on Tuesday, May 26th, during normal business hours.
- School rules will be enforced. Graduates who come improperly attired will be turned away and not allowed to participate unless they change into proper attire.
Note: Campus Administration decisions are final.
FEMALE STUDENT DRESS CODE (Not optional)
- Shoes: Make sure all shoes are comfortable to your liking. There is a ramp to move across the stage. No stilettos or pointy heels. This damages the track, and your shoes will sink into the turf field. You can wear thicker heels or wedges. No tennis shoes, flip flops, Crocs, etc…
- Dress/Skirt: Simple, plain – appropriate for the ceremony. Must not extend below the gown or be seen above the collar area.
- Pants: Must be dark-colored dress slacks. Jeans that look like dress slacks are allowed (no light-colored, faded, or acid-washed jeans).
MALE STUDENT DRESS CODE (Not optional)
- Shirt: White or light-colored, button-down dress shirt Note: All grad gowns have a V-neck, so the color of the shirt and tie is important.
- Pants: Must be dark-colored dress slacks. Jeans that look like dress slacks are allowed (no light-colored, faded, or acid-washed jeans).
- Tie: Regular dress tie or bow tie • Shoes: Dark dress shoes or cowboy boots. No tennis shoes, flip flops, Crocs, etc…
FAMILY & FRIENDS
The Graduation Commencement is a formal ceremony to recognize all students. Family and friends of all graduates look forward to hearing the announcements of their own graduate’s name. Please respect every family’s right to hear their own graduate’s name. Please leave noisemakers at home and turn off cell phones, pagers, and other electronic devices at the ceremony. The ceremony typically lasts 90 minutes.
Graduation Parking Information
Graduation Guest Arrival Information
- The parking lot opens at 6 PM until 7 PM for vehicles with displayed parking passes only.
- Vehicles that attempt to park in the parking lot prior to 6 PM without a displayed pass will be towed.
- Guests that have a handicap placard AND a parking pass, may park in the designated handicap parking spaces.
- After 7PM, if the parking lot is not full, parking passes are not required.
Graduation Guest Shuttle Information
Location: Santa Fe Junior High: 4132 Warpath, Santa Fe, TX 77510
- Shuttles begin running at 6 PM
- Shuttles run continuously throughout graduation.
- Handicap transportation will be available on select buses.

Students should check in with their 7th‑period teacher for attendance.

The banners are displayed in the high school and hung outside during the graduation ceremony. After graduation, you may take your banner home.
